Mail Art
Hello 3rd year of uni!
Our first project is called Mail Art where we got posed 12 questions and were asked to produce 4 responses to them and then mail them to our tutor. Here's my 4 responses, all packaged and now posted, I tried to include some kind of interactive element into each to make them work on a more advanced level.
I'll reveal more after we've presented them all on Wednesday.

Interactive Design Sync Show
And here's a small video of the making of filmed by Jamie Gregson:
Went to the Interactive Design final year show on the 4th June, it was really amazing! They had an interactive turntable piece were you moved small circle shaped markers to change how a music piece sounded, as well as everyones work on an interactive website and another piece called 'Circuit Breakers'. It was a really great night and definately something to attempt to match next year!
D.I.Y Screen Printing
This is mine and Amy's first attempt at screen printing. We made the screen using a cheap photo frame and a mesh fabric stapled over it and then covered each side with the emulsion and exposed the image onto it using the sun (which took several attempts to get the timing right)
For a first attempt I think it was a great success, needs more work to get the timing just right, also the material we used was a little too thin so it let ink through even with the emulsion on it.
Stay tuned for the 2nd attempt!

Bank of One Hundred
Final Prints.
Heres my final note designs for my 100 project based around the idea of how the value of £100 has changed from 1910 to now and how it will change again in 2110. I printed as wad of 50 notes for each and printed 3 cover notes using gold silver and bronze foil transfer.

Break Your Socks!
Went to a fun little night on Thursday organized by Johnathan Robertson and a few other 3rd years to raise money for the Interactive Design final show. They had live screen printing, illustration and a few audio visual presentations including a great light piece by Mike Tierney which you can see properly here: http://www.vimeo.com/11384068
Here are a few photos from the event
I also bought this screen-printed poster, dinosaurs rule.

New Books
Picked up these yesterday, "V&A Pattern Digital Pioneers" and "The Encyclopaedia of Typefaces" It's pretty great having a book that lists every typeface I just wish I could own them all. The Digital Pioneers book has a lot of inspiration in and the patterns created are really intricate and interesting AND it comes with a CD containing all of the images, can't really ask for any more.
